Dogs left at the Sanctuary and Correcting Misinformation.
There are ten dogs left at the Taos Mesa Animal Sanctuary site according to what I’ve been told. These dogs have been described as “feral or semi feral” and not good candidates for adoption. I thought the numbers was lower due to the decrease in noise from the site. That makes me wonder just how many dogs were there when TMAS was operating. I don’t know if the 10 dogs remaining are aggressive or just difficult to train and socialize. The comments on the previous post have been informative. In addressing the narrative given out by the TMAS founder, I…

Taos Mesa Animal Sanctuary Closed?
The founder of the Taos Mesa Animal Sanctuary left the state yesterday. The rumor that she was leaving the Taos area was circulating the past few days and, yesterday, a truck and a uhaul were observed at the site and she left with most of the dogs in the afternoon. Someone is staying in the house and there are still a couple of dogs onsite. It has been noticeably quieter since then. The dogs at the sanctuary not only created a lot of noise barking on their own, they triggered other dogs in the neighborhood. In the early morning, there…

Tres Orejas, a Dumping Ground for Taos County’s Stray Animals.
Just a short update. First, there was a hearing in the quiet title suit. The suit is effectively dead for the present but the motion for a declaratory judgment that would prevent it from being refiled was denied. There is another motion to for it to be judged on the basis of the previous 2004 quiet title suit and the attorney for Golden River is insisting that it’s a different entity with no connection to the plaintiff in the previous suit in spite of her being listed as Golden River’s manager in it’s corporate filings. Golden River’s attorney insisted at…

A Day in Court and Doing It Right
The hearing on the restraining order was July 3rd. The Taos Mesa Animal Sanctuary’s founder showed up alone and I was with my co-defendants and their attorney. The part involving the sanctuary was dismissed outright due to one board member not having the authority to act alone in filing the application–something that was pointed out in a comment on social media. Another hearing was set for the part involving TMAS’s founder. TMAS has the option of refiling if they do it properly as a board and hire an attorney. In this case they were not doing it right and one…

Robert N. Golubin and the Great Southwestern Land Company
On June 21st 1961, The Great Southwestern Land Company was incorporated in Santa Fe New Mexico by Robert, Edward and Doris Golubin. In its articles of incorporation, the stated purpose of this new corporation was to deal in real estate and, as stated in their corporate charter, “buy, sell, plat and dispose of subdivisions and acreage, to build and sell homes and business buildings, and to do any and all things usual to the general real estate development business.” They also stated that they could deal in building materials, stocks and securities among other assets. In reality, the only part…

The “Green” Land Question and the Misdeeds Involved
One thing I should do is explain why some of us are opposing the Golden River quiet title suit. Contrary to what some people want to believe, it isn’t about the person involved, it’s about the land, the parcels of abandoned property currently assessed to the defunct Great Southwestern Land Company and referred to locally in our own slang term as “green lots”. They are scattered all over the Great Southwestern subdivisions. I have several near me and pay property taxes on two of them. A lot of property owners out here do the same with the green lots near…

Pleading the First, Update and Feedback
I have gotten quite a bit of feedback on this website both positive and negative. I’ll start with the most negative. I found out Saturday that I am a defendant in application for a restraining order along with five others filed by the founder of the Taos Mesa Animal Sanctuary. I got the application from the court yesterday and in it there is section for special requests to the court. It states, “Plaintiff also requests that the defendant be ordered not to do the following, post flyers, post on blogs, post on social media anything including my name or the…

Repression on Social Media, Aggression on the Ground
One of the more disturbing things about Golden River’s fraudulent quiet title suit is the active and aggressive attempt to suppress all discussion of it on social media. When the notice of the suit came out a year ago, there were several posts on Facebook about it, both by individuals and in Facebook groups. Several of the people who posted about it received fake cease and desist letters that had no legal validity and were from Golden River’s owner, not her attorney. Viewing one of these letters is one of the things that motivated me to start this website so…

The Corporate History of Tres Orejas
From the “Great Southwestern Land Co.” to “Golden River LLC”, Tres Orejas has had a long list of “corporations” in its history since the 1960s. There aren’t any big corporations on the list. There are no natural resources here to exploit nor markets to market to. All of the corporations in the history of Tres Orejas have dealt in the one thing that is here: Real estate, conveniently divided into 1/4 acre lots. None of these corporations had anything like a board of directors and most were run by one person. They were what is referred to as a corporate…

Dogs, Lies, and School Buses.
So it’s pretty clear that “Taos Mesa Animal Sanctuary” is operating out of a couple of buses. Someone shared one of their facebook posts and their cat space seen from the inside is obviously the inside of the school bus which is just outside of the photo I put in the last post so the one in the photo is likely another shelter space. It doesn’t look like cats could be left in the bus when the weather is hot, so I have to assume that they get to wander around outside. The dogs definitely are, that’s been confirmed by…
