What is Happening?
60 Acres in In Tres Orejas, Unit 3 on what we call green land are currently at stake and being sought by Golden Rivers, LLC, owned by Adrianna Solare, by a quiet title suit established through a Default judgment.
What is Default Judgment? It means that if no one in the community or elsewhere objects to Solare using quiet title suit to gain title of 60 acres, then by default she may be able to acquire title to this land.
What’s happening Now?
Solare filed her notice to pursue quiet title in the Taos Legals earlier this year.
Members of the community responded in June of this year by filing a motion to intervene and stop this acquisition of Land.
A new court hearing has been set for October, 23rd @ 9am. For the judge to hear this case ….again!
What Happened before?
In 2004, Solare, had previously attempted to acquire almost all of the same 60 acres of Unit 3, but was unsuccessful as community members intervened and her quiet suit didn’t move forward. In fact In 2004, Judge Peggy Nelson stated, “ There is an appearance of a sham or fraud, and I will allow this intervention”
Now in 2023, Solare is operating under “Golden Rivers LLC “and is currently attempting to use the quiet title process again to obtain title to land she has no ownership of, has not paid any taxes on nor has demonstrated full use of all this land. Instead, she built a small structure that is blocking access and scattered a few “No trespassing” signs to establish ownership of all 60 acres!!!!
Why should I care? This community is concerned about predatory land development practices and how they could impact our water access, disease prevention, public safety issues and other communities as well.
